| Reverse description | Central field depicts the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) facing left, shown in profile with a nimbus cross and a banner staff, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The lamb stands passant, rendered in the simplified, slightly crude style typical of hammered provincial coinage. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters surrounds the central device between two beaded borders, reading AGNE DEI MISERERE M, a devotional invocation abbreviated from Agnus Dei miserere mei. The composition reflects the strong religious iconography prevalent on Scandinavian civic coinage of the sixteenth century. |
