Obverse description Central field displays the crowned arms of Visby — a divided shield featuring the city's heraldic emblem — enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The last two digits of the date are split across the lower portion of the shield, flanking the central device. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters runs along the outer rim between two beaded borders, reading MONETA WISBEENSIS, identifying this as coinage of Visby. The overall style is characteristic of hammered Nordic municipal coinage of the mid-sixteenth century.
