| Beschrijving keerzijde | Cruciform arrangement of four crowned shields of arms occupying the central field, with the date divided on either side of the uppermost shield. The quarters display, clockwise from top: the arms of England (three passant guardant lions), Scotland (a rampant lion within a double tressure), France (three fleurs-de-lis), and Ireland (a harp). A radiant sceptre-star ornament is positioned at the center of the cross, formed by the interstices of the four shields. The whole is surmounted by a royal crown above the top shield. The circumscribed Latin legend MAG·BR·FRA·ET·HIB REX· with the date 1685 reads around the periphery within a milled border. |
