George V died on January 20, 1936, before this brass trial strike could advance toward circulation. Trial pieces in brass for the West African shilling were produced as part of the composition-testing process that preceded the eventual nickel-brass issues, and the timing of his death froze several planned production runs mid-development. KM#Pn6 sits in a small cluster of 1936-dated pattern and trial material that never resolved into a circulating type under his name.
