Aanvullende informatie

Zimbabwe's post-2009 monetary history is a tangle of adopted currencies and failed substitutes, and this coin sits in one of its stranger chapters. After the collapse of the Zimbabwe dollar and years of using the US dollar and South African rand as de facto tender, the government introduced "bond coins" beginning in 2014 — nominally pegged to the US dollar, accepted in practice by a population that had no better option. This shilling, issued under that framework, commemorates the F-22 Raptor, an American stealth fighter that entered USAF service in 2005 and has never been exported to any foreign military.
