Obverse description Crowned bust of Queen Elizabeth I facing left, depicted in profile with long flowing hair and wearing an elaborately decorated bodice with ruffled collar. The queen's effigy displays a Tudor crown surmounting the head, rendered in the characteristic hammered style of the Elizabethan mint. A beaded inner circle frames the royal portrait, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is executed in the second coinage style, showing the queen in regal dress with fine drapery details visible at the shoulder.
