| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field occupied by a large quartered heraldic shield surmounted by an elaborate open crown with foliate ornaments. The shield displays multiple coats of arms of the Bronkhorst and Batenburg lordships, rendered in bold relief characteristic of early seventeenth-century hammered coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, with a circular Latin legend running between the inner and outer beaded borders. The legend reads MO • AR • MAX D : BR • L • BA IN • BATE ET • STEIИ, identifying the monetary authority as Maximilian, Lord of Bronkhorst, Baron of Batenburg and Steyn. The entire composition is struck on a square klippe flan with clipped corners. |
