The legend UTRAQUE UNUM is partially legible around the upper periphery, separated by rosette stops. Dominating the center of the reverse is a large oval or circular Jamaican counterstamp bearing the crowned royal cypher 'GR' (Georgius Rex), applied by Jamaican authorities to validate the Spanish coin for local circulation at a value of 1 Shilling 8 Pence. A small hole is evident at the lower rim. The milled edge border remains partially intact. |
