The date 902 AH (an erroneous rendering of 920 AH) appears within the inscription, a highly atypical placement for Safavid coinage, where dates are conventionally positioned alongside the mint name and ruler's name. The legends are deeply struck on an irregular flan, with the Arabic script filling the central medallion in a dense, stacked arrangement characteristic of early Safavid hammered issues. |
