The heavy cast bronzes attributed to uncertain Etruscan mints in this period present persistent attribution problems — regional production was fragmented, and no single mint authority has been conclusively identified for this wheel/anchor series. What is clear is that the weight standard reflects the earlier, heavier Roman libral tradition still in use before the dramatic reductions forced by the financial strain of the First Punic War. By the time Rome stabilized its bronze coinage in the mid-third century, issues this heavy were already obsolete. The "var." notation against ICC#148 signals a die or module deviation not fully catalogued in the primary references.
