Obverse description Heraldic shield bearing the arms of Cardinal Annibale Albani, surmounted by the papal tiara and the crossed keys of Saint Peter, with elaborate mantling flanking the escutcheon on either side. The shield is quartered and displays the Albani family charges in fine relief. The circular legend reads SEDE VACANTE, divided to the left and right of the central device, referencing the interregnum period following the death of Pope Clement XI. The coin's border features a beaded inner rim, characteristic of Roman mint production of the early eighteenth century.
