Reverse description A plain cross divides the field into four quadrants, all contained within a pointed shield. The shield is centrally placed within a beaded inner circle, with a Gothic uncial legend surrounding it reading MONE - TA DN - ORVM - PRVC, denoting the monetary authority of the Teutonic Order in Prussia. The design is austere and heraldic in character, consistent with the Order's schilling coinage of the early fifteenth century.
