| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts the standing figures of Saints Peter and Paul, the patron saints of Münster Cathedral, facing one another in Gothic style. Saint Peter, on the left, is shown holding his attribute keys, while Saint Paul, on the right, bears a sword. Between the two figures rises a tall cross or staff surmounted by a papal tiara or similar ecclesiastical emblem. A beaded inner border surrounds the design, with the abbreviated names of the two saints distributed in the surrounding legend field. The overall artistic style is characteristic of late medieval German hammered silver coinage. |

Francis of Waldeck held the Bishopric of Münster under extraordinary pressure — 1535 was the year his forces retook the city from the Anabaptist theocracy that had seized control under Jan van Leiden, who had declared Münster the "New Jerusalem" in 1534. The siege lasted over a year. Coinage issued under Francis during this period reflects a bishopric fighting to reassert both temporal and ecclesiastical authority over one of the most radical millenarian uprisings in Reformation history.
