| 裏面の説明 | Central device consisting of a crossed sword and key — the traditional heraldic emblems of the Bishopric of Dorpat — with a hand issuing from or connected to the lower end of the sword, all depicted in low relief on an irregular hammered flan. The sword and key are arranged diagonally in saltire fashion within the central field. A partial encircling legend in uncial Latin script appears around the periphery. The design is consistent with other Livonian episcopal schillings of the 15th century in both composition and iconographic program. |
