Reverse description Plain, smooth hammered gold surface with the characteristic undulating texture resulting from the hand-beating process used at the Kinza mint. A small ink authentication seal or assayer's mark is visible near the lower right area of the flan, consistent with Kinza quality-control practices. Several faint scratched or stamped marks are discernible at the upper and lower margins, typical of testing or certification stamps applied during production. The reverse is otherwise unadorned, reflecting the functional simplicity of early Japanese koban coinage.
