Two symmetrical sprays of wheat ear stalks flank the lower portion of the design, their tips meeting at the base in a decorative arrangement. The Arabic legend 'حكومت پاکستان' (Government of Pakistan) arcs across the upper field in Nastaliq script. No date appears on this pattern issue. Aanvullende informatie

Pakistan's monetary authority periodically commissioned pattern strikes to evaluate proposed design or compositional changes before committing to full production runs. This 1991 nickel brass plated copper piece was part of that testing process for a reduced rupee type — the plating technology itself was under evaluation, as plated coinage offered cost savings over solid alloy blanks but introduced new concerns about long-term wear and delamination in tropical circulation conditions. The "smaller type" designation indicates dimensional reduction from the preceding issue was also on the table.
