| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a bold five-stemmed tughra in Arabic calligraphy, the interlocking strokes of the royal cipher rendered in the characteristic Afghan hammered style with densely packed, deeply struck lettering filling the entire flan. The tughra serves as the royal monogram of Amir Sher Ali Khan, its vertical stems rising prominently above a curved baseline of intertwined script. Surrounding Arabic legends occupy the peripheral field, with the irregular hammered flan imparting a characteristically uneven border. |
