Obverse description Central field displays the imperial name and titles of Shah Jahan rendered in Persian nastaliq script, enclosed within a decorative square cartouche with ornamental knotted projections at each corner. The mint name Qandahar appears within or adjacent to the cartouche, along with the Regnal Year (RY) date. The overall composition is characteristic of Mughal hammered coinage, with flowing calligraphic inscriptions filling the field. Flan irregularities typical of hand-struck issues are visible around the periphery.
