Obverse description The obverse displays the Islamic declaration of faith (Kalima) rendered in bold, flowing Nasta'liq calligraphy across the central field, reading 'There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.' Beneath the Kalima, the mint name 'Patna' (پٹنہ) is inscribed, followed by the regnal year 'Sana 5' in Arabic numerals. The entire design is set within a plain inner field surrounded by a dotted border near the rim. The hammered flan exhibits the characteristic irregular outline typical of Mughal silver coinage of this period.
