Obverse description Hammered silver flan bearing bold Nasta'liq Persian calligraphy arranged in three registers across the field. The central legend reads the royal titles and name of the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II, flanked by decorative pellet ornaments typical of late Mughal coinage. A continuous border inscription runs along the upper and lower margins, with the mint name Najibabad appearing in the lower register. The script is deeply struck in the characteristic flowing style of eighteenth-century Mughal rupees, with slight flan irregularities consistent with hand-hammered production.
