| Reverse description | Hammered reverse displaying the mint and regnal year formula in Persian naskh script, arranged in two registers divided by a horizontal line. The upper register bears the mint name and the lower register contains the regnal year (sanah) of Shah Alam II's reign, followed by the phrase 'julus maimant manus' (the auspicious accession). Decorative pellet groups are interspersed throughout the field, consistent with Gwalior State hammered rupee production. The irregular flan and bold calligraphic strokes are hallmarks of indigenous Princely State minting practice. |
