| Reverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Persian legend in Nastaliq script recording the mint city and regnal year, reading 'Zarb Murshidabad Sanat 19 Julus Maimanat Manus,' indicating the coin was struck at Murshidabad in the 19th year of the emperor's auspicious reign. A circular Qu'aiti countermark approximately 10 mm in diameter has been applied over the reverse legend, bearing the Arabic inscription 'Al-Dawla Munassar' (State's Defender) with the Hijri year 1307. The countermark is the authenticating device applied by the Qu'aiti Sultanate to authorise the host rupee for local circulation. |
