Obverse description Central field bearing the name and title of Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah in two lines of Persian script, enclosed within a rectangular cartouche framed by fine linear borders. Additional Persian legends fill the upper and lower segments of the coin's field, partially visible beyond the cartouche. The inscriptions are boldly rendered in the Mughal epigraphic tradition, with characteristic calligraphic flourishes typical of early 18th-century hammered rupees struck in the Deccan region.
