The legend records the regnal titles of Emperor Nur ud-Din Jahangir, son of Akbar Shah, along with the mint name Kashmir and the date of issue expressed in both the Hijri year 1029 and the 15th regnal year of Jahangir's reign. The script fills the entire flan with fluid, calligraphic lines, with floral or foliate vine motifs framing or intertwining with the text in a manner typical of Kashmir mint issues.
