| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field dominated by a multi-line Persian calligraphic legend in bold naskh script, contained within a raised rectangular frame. The legend reads the royal titulature of Islam Shah Suri, proclaiming him Sultan son of Sultan, Jalal al-Dunya wa'l-Din, Abu'l-Muzaffar Islam Shah ibn Sher Shah Sultan. A Devanagari inscription appears in a horizontal band in the lower portion of the central field, recording the mint name. The mint name is additionally noted in the right margin of the obverse, with decorative borders enclosing the entire design. The flan is irregular and slightly broader than the die, typical of hammered Suri coinage. |
