Immediately below the emblem appears the motto legend in Devanagari script, and the numeral '1' is prominently placed in the lower field. The bilingual country name legend arcs around the upper periphery in Devanagari (भारत) to the left and Latin (INDIA) to the right, with the denomination 'RUPEE' inscribed along the right rim in Latin script and 'रुपया' in Devanagari along the left.
