Obverse description Central field features the royal cipher of King Gyanendra Bir Bikram within a traditional Nepalese geometric panel design, with the king's name and titles inscribed in Devanagari script arranged within a rectangular grid of compartments. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner border and a plain outer rim. The Bikram Sambat regnal year appears at the base of the central panel.

Reverse description Central device depicts a front-facing view of the Bageshwari Temple, rendered in detail showing the traditional pagoda-style Nepalese temple architecture with tiered roof and entrance steps. The temple name बागेश्वरी (Bageshwari) is inscribed in Devanagari script in an arc above the temple. The numeral '1' in Devanagari appears at the base of the field, flanked by the words for 'Rupee' in Devanagari script on either side. The design is surrounded by a beaded border.
