| Obverse description | The obverse displays multiple horizontal bands of bold Nasta'liq calligraphy in Arabic script filling the entire field, conveying the royal legend of Dost Muhammad Khan. The inscription is rendered in high relief against a finely granulated background decorated with foliate and floral motifs typical of Barakzai-era coinage. Small pellet clusters are interspersed throughout the field as ornamental elements. The irregular flan edge, characteristic of hammered coinage of this period, is clearly visible. The overall design follows the traditional South Asian rupee format with continuous calligraphic bands dominating the composition. |
