Below this central emblem, the denomination 'एक रूपैयाँ' (One Rupee) and the issuing authority 'नेपाल' (Nepal) are inscribed in Devanagari script. The entire central motif is enclosed within a raised lotus-petal border composed of twelve scalloped segments, each containing a Devanagari inscription forming the honorific legend dedicated to Gorakhnaath and Bhawani. The outer rim is defined by a continuous beaded border. The overall design reflects the deeply Hindu-Buddhist artistic tradition of the Nepalese royal coinage. |
