Obverse description Central field dominated by two bold curved lines of Persian calligraphy in the nastaliq script, bearing the name and titles of Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir. The AH regnal date is inscribed within the legend. The script is arranged in elegant arched bands occupying the full flan, characteristic of Mughal hammered rupee coinage. The field shows the textured, slightly irregular surface typical of hand-struck silver issues of this period.
