The upper register bears the regnal year formula 'Sanah 4 Julus' (year four of accession), the central register carries the auspicious phrase 'Maimanat Manus' (auspiciously familiar), and the lower register states the mint name 'Zarb Calcutta' (struck at Calcutta), identifying the Calcutta Mint as the place of issue. Scattered pellet ornaments and floral devices fill the margins, consistent with the stylistic conventions of Bengal Presidency hammered rupees issued in the name of the Mughal emperor. |
