| Obverse description | Hammered silver flan bearing three lines of bold Nasta'liq Arabic script arranged across the field, divided by two horizontal ruled lines creating distinct registers. The upper register contains the opening of the regal formula 'Sikka Mubarak' (the auspicious coin), the central and dominant register bears the epithet 'Badshah Ghazi' in large, prominently stroked calligraphy, and the lower register carries the regnal title 'Alamgir'. Decorative pellet ornaments and diamond-shaped fleurons are scattered in the margins, with a sun or star device visible in the left field, characteristic of Mughal hammered coinage struck in the name of Emperor Alamgir II. |
