The regnal Hijri year appears in a central register, varying according to the year of issue. The lowest register records the mint name 'Zarb Jaunpur' (Struck at Jaunpur), identifying the place of manufacture. The entire design is conceived as a calligraphic composition with no figurative elements, consistent with orthodox Islamic numismatic convention. |
