Pakistan's 1 Rupee note of this period was printed domestically by the Pakistan Security Printing Corporation — itself a relatively young institution, established in Karachi in the early 1950s as part of a broader effort to bring currency production under national control rather than relying on the established Commonwealth printers like Bradbury, Wilkinson or De La Rue. The earlier 1948 rupee notes had been printed in Britain; this series marks the shift.

P#9 spans an unusually long print window for such a low denomination, suggesting continuous reissue with incremental changes to signatures reflecting ministerial turnover.
