| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of Emperor Nicholas II facing left, rendered in high relief with detailed beard and hair, set within a raised inner circle. The peripheral legend in pre-reform Cyrillic reads above: ТОЛЬКО ЗЕМСКИЙ СОБОР, continuing below: ИЗБЕРЕТ ДОСТОЙНОГО ПРЕЕМНИКА. The reign dates 1894–1917 appear vertically to the left of the portrait, and the denomination РУБЛЬ is inscribed to the right. The antiqued finish gives the design a deliberately aged appearance. |

| Reverse description | Central device depicts the Russian Imperial double-headed eagle displayed, with wings spread, bearing a shield on its breast and a sword positioned behind the body. Above the eagle, within the inner circle, appears the motto За Вѣру, Царѧ и Отечество! (For Faith, Tsar and Fatherland!), flanked by the founding and commemorative dates 1929 and 1989. The numeral 60 appears prominently below the eagle above the legend ЛѢТЪ БОРЬБЫ (Years of Struggle). The outer legend reads РОССIЙСКИЙ ИМПЕРСКIЙ СОЮЗЪ-ОРДЕНЪ around the upper periphery, and МЫ РѸССКИЕ, СЪ НАМИ БОГЪ! (We are Russians, God is with us!) around the lower periphery. |
