| Obverse description | The field is dominated by dense, boldly raised Arabic calligraphic inscriptions arranged in two principal registers, separated by a pair of interlocking crescents enclosing the accession date AH 1322 in the upper zone. The imam's full titular legend — naming Yahya Mohammed Hamid ad-Din, Commander of the Faithful and Al-Mutawakkil upon God, Lord of the Worlds — fills the lower register in flowing Naskh script. Decorative foliate sprays flank the composition on both sides, and a small ornamental rosette device appears at the base. The entire design is contained within a finely dentilated inner border surrounded by a reeded outer rim. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a central circular cartouche bisected by a horizontal line, bearing the Shahada in two lines: 'There is no god but Allah' above the line and 'Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah' below, in bold Naskh script. Above the cartouche, a small crescent encloses the word 'Amadi' (denoting the coinage type), flanked by two symmetrical olive or laurel branches extending outward into the field. Surrounding the central cartouche, a continuous Arabic legend records the mint name — Dar al-Khilafa, Sana'a, Yemen — and the AH striking date, rendered in large sweeping script that fills the remaining field. The design is enclosed within a dentilated border and reeded rim consistent with the obverse. |
