| Obverse description | Central field features the national emblem of the Yemen Arab Republic: a spread eagle with wings displayed, bearing a shield on its breast, flanked by two curved janbiya daggers and national flags. The eagle's head faces dexter. Arabic legend curves along the upper periphery reading the country name, while the denomination '١ ريال / 1R' and the dual date '1969-١٩٦٩' appear in the lower field. The inscription 'YEMEN ARAB REPUBLIC' is rendered in Latin characters along the lower rim. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
