Obverse description Central to the obverse is the national emblem of Oman — two crossed khanjar daggers overlaid on a pair of crossed swords — set within a beaded inner circle. The legend 'SULTANATE OF OMAN' arcs along the lower field in Latin script, while the Arabic inscription 'سَلْطَنَة عُمَان' appears within the inner circle above the emblem. The outer legend 'CENTRAL BANK OF OMAN' runs along the lower periphery in bold Latin capitals, with the Arabic equivalent of the bank name arcing along the upper periphery. The denomination 'ONE RIAL' appears to the left of the emblem and 'رِيَال وَاحِد' to the right in the mid-field. A beaded border frames the entire design.
