Beschrijving voorzijde	Intaglio portrait of Sultan Qaboos bin Sa'id in traditional Omani dress and turban occupies the right portion of the note against a multicolour guilloche underprint in pastel tones of green and yellow. The bank title in Arabic script appears at upper centre, with the denomination in large calligraphic Arabic lettering at centre, and the inscription 'Sultan of Oman' in Arabic below the governor's facsimile signature. Ornate red arabesque borders frame all four sides, with the national emblem at top centre.

Beschrijving keerzijde	The central vignette presents an intaglio view of Sohar Fort, the ancient coastal stronghold rendered in fine line engraving with palm trees in the foreground and battlemented walls extending across the width of the note. The legend 'CENTRAL BANK OF OMAN' appears in a cartouche at top centre, with 'ONE RIAL' in a framed panel at lower centre, and the caption 'SOHAR FORT' in a small cartouche to the right of the vignette. The overall design is executed in deep red on white, enclosed by elaborate floral and arabesque guilloche borders.
