1 Real Type IV Countermark

Beschrijving voorzijde	The obverse of the host coin features a bare-headed portrait bust of Rafael Carrera facing left, engraved by Trener, occupying the central field. A Type IV Salvadoran countermark — comprising the letter 'R' within a beaded circle of approximately 5 mm diameter — is applied over the lower portion of the bust, just below the truncation. The encircling legend reads RAFAEL CARRERA P! DE LA R! DE GUATEMALA, separated from the toothed border by a fine inner rim.

The denomination UN REAL appears at the base, with the host coin date 1860 visible to the right and the assayer or mint notation to the left, all within a toothed border.
