Obverse description Central field displays the Chilean national coat of arms: a quartered shield bearing a five-pointed star above horizontal stripes, surmounted by a plumed crest. The shield is flanked by laurel and oak branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The denomination '1 R' appears to the left and right of the shield within the wreath. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CHILE runs along the upper periphery, and the date and assayer initials appear at the lower exergue. The coin is bordered by a continuous inner ring of beading.
