Obverse description Draped laureate bust of Ferdinand VII facing right, rendered in the neoclassical style typical of Royalist Mexican colonial coinage. The effigy displays the king's truncated shoulder drapery and a laurel wreath crowning the portrait. The encircling legend reads FERDIN.VII. DEI.GRATIA with the date below the bust in the exergue area. The portrait style reflects the emergency coinage character of the Durango mint during the Mexican War of Independence.
