Obverse description Draped laureate bust of Ferdinand VII facing right, rendered in the neoclassical style typical of Royalist Mexican colonial coinage. The effigy displays the king's truncated shoulder drapery and a laurel wreath crowning the portrait. The encircling legend reads FERDIN.VII. DEI.GRATIA with the date below the bust in the exergue area. The portrait style reflects the emergency coinage character of the Durango mint during the Mexican War of Independence.

Reverse description Crowned Spanish royal arms shield at center, displaying the quartered coat of arms with castles and lions, flanked on either side by the Pillars of Hercules with their respective crowns. The mint mark, assayer initials, and denomination appear within the surrounding legend. The overall composition follows the standard colonial Spanish milled coinage design, with the crowned shield serving as the dominant device in the field.
