| توضیحات روی سکه | Central device consists of the crowned quartered arms of Castile and León — quarters displaying castles and lions alternately — with a small escutcheon of the French Bourbons (fleur-de-lis) at center, all within an ornate shield surmounted by a royal crown. The denomination numeral 'I' appears to the right of the shield and the mintmark 'R' (Lima) to the left, both in the field. The peripheral legend reads FERD VI D G HISP ET IND R in Latin, distributed around the coin, separated by small star stops, rendered in a clean upright roman style consistent with Lima milled coinage. |

Fernando VI's reign coincided with the Peruvian mint's transition from cob coinage to the milled "columnario" series — a reform driven less by aesthetics than by chronic fraud, as clipped and underweight macuquinas had destabilized colonial commerce for decades. Lima had been producing milled coinage since 1752, but output of the smaller denominations remained inconsistent, and the 1 real saw comparatively limited production runs against the heavily demanded 8 and 4 real pieces.
Fernando died in 1759 after a prolonged mental collapse, ending this short type. Carlos III's portrait coinage superseded it almost immediately.
