Individual vignettes within the panels depict scenes and motifs associated with children's lives, including a child's face, a sailboat, playful hands, bubbles, and other childhood imagery rendered in relief. The word 'Protea' and the denomination 'R1' are integrated into the design within separate panels. The engraver's initials 'AM' appear in the lower right field. The composition conveys a sense of diversity and innocence through its fragmented, puzzle-like artistic arrangement.
