| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field occupied by a horse-head shaped shield bearing the civic arms of Piacenza, rendered in low relief characteristic of hammered billon coinage. The shield displays a tower motif, with the crossed keys of the Papacy positioned above the shield, asserting dual civic and ecclesiastical authority. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, partially visible due to the irregular flan. The overall composition is typical of late medieval Italian municipal coinage produced under Papal suzerainty. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Leo X granted Piacenza to the Papal States in 1512 after the city was seized from the Sforza-controlled Duchy of Milan during the upheaval surrounding the War of the League of Cambrai. This quattrino belongs to the very first years of direct papal administration, issued before the city's monetary arrangements had fully stabilized under Rome's authority.
