Obverse description Central field occupied by a horse-head shaped shield bearing the civic arms of Piacenza, rendered in low relief characteristic of hammered billon coinage. The shield displays a tower motif, with the crossed keys of the Papacy positioned above the shield, asserting dual civic and ecclesiastical authority. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, partially visible due to the irregular flan. The overall composition is typical of late medieval Italian municipal coinage produced under Papal suzerainty.
