Reverse description Central field depicts a stylised classical temple or Holy Door (Porta Santa) facade, consisting of a triangular pediment supported by two pilasters framing an arched doorway, a device directly alluding to the Jubilee Year of 1575 proclaimed by Gregory XIII. The date 1575 appears in the lower portion of the field beneath the structure. The legend MACERATA runs around the periphery, identifying the issuing mint, with a partial beaded border visible along the coin's edge.
