Obverse description Draped bust of Pope Alexander VIII facing right, wearing the papal camauro and richly embroidered vestments, rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner. The engraver's signature HAMERANVS appears on the truncation. The circular Latin legend reads ALEX VIII P M INEVNTE AN II, denoting the second year of his pontificate.

Reverse description Two full-length figures of Saints Magnus and Bruno standing facing one another in a composed Baroque composition; Saint Magnus, depicted as a bishop at left, wears full pontifical vestments including mitre and cope, raises his right hand in blessing and holds a crozier, while Saint Bruno at right, dressed in the white habit of the Carthusian order, holds a book and gestures toward his companion. The papal tiara and keys appear as a cartouche in the exergue, flanked by the date 1690. The surrounding legend references the feast day of both saints.
