Obverse description The obverse is entirely occupied by a multi-line calligraphic Arabic legend executed in bold Nastaliq script, reading 'السلطان ابن السلطان ناصرالدین شاه قاجار' (Sultan son of Sultan, Naser al-Din Shah Qajar). The inscription fills the entire field in sweeping, interlocking strokes characteristic of the Qajar royal titulature style. Small rosette or pellet ornaments are interspersed between the lines of text, serving as decorative separators. The whole design is enclosed within a beaded border running along the coin's circumference. The deeply struck lettering and decorative flourishes reflect the high-relief engraving tradition of the Qajar mint.
